Why this resume works

  • Activation metric (32% → 51%) anchors the onboarding bullet to business value — the strongest framing for design resumes.
  • Design system bullet names the artifact (24 primitives, 41 patterns), the consumers (7 teams), and the adoption window (8 months). All three are what senior design hiring managers look for.
  • 'Killed two committed-roadmap features' shows judgment, not just delivery. Senior design panels weight tradeoff bullets over delivery-only bullets.
  • Research is named in concrete units (78 interviews, 22 tests, 4 direction changes) — not 'experience with research methods'.

Common mistakes

  • Listing Figma plugins. The recruiter does not care; the senior IC interviewer does not care.
  • Calling everything a 'redesign'. A redesign without an outcome bullet is a portfolio piece, not a resume bullet. Pair the redesign with the metric the redesign moved.
  • Burying research. If half your work is research, half your bullets should reflect it — and concrete units (interviews, tests, recruitment) outperform method-list bullets.
  • Listing every design school you considered. Education in two lines. Move portfolio link to the contact line.

Questions

UX Designer resume — frequently asked

Do I need a portfolio link?+
Yes. Include it in the contact line. A resume without a portfolio link in design will not make the first pass at most companies.
Should I list every Figma plugin I've used?+
No. List Figma at the level of 'Figma (variables, auto-layout, prototyping)' and stop there. Plugins are noise.
Product designer vs UX designer vs UI designer — which to claim?+
Use whichever the target company uses. Most modern SaaS companies use 'Product Designer' as the senior IC title. Mirror their language in your summary line; the keyword engine credits both.
Is HTML/CSS worth listing as a design skill?+
Yes if you can read it and ship token files for engineering. Don't claim to write production CSS unless you do.
